Happy Fathers Day

To my husband, the man who has changed diapers, made bottles and walked floors. The father who went to all the doctors appointments with the first pregnancy and as many as work would allow for the second. The man who was there for the labor and delivery of both children. He attended doctors appointments, both emergency and non-emergency. He knew the name and phone number of the kids doctor. Still does. He can tell you the names of the kids friends, he can tell you the kids favorite colors. He can even tell you their favorite soft drinks.
He’s been in Emergency Departments in two states with eye, arm and thumb injuries. He’s applied creams, eye patches and pain medication. He’s given baths and gotten a few whether he meant to or not. He’s been the calm in their storm, their constant in an ever changing world. He’s taught them patience and tolerance.
He’s attended their concerts and shows. He’s attended their eighth grade graduation ceremonies. First days of school and last days of school. He’s stood at bus stops to see them off and waited at bus stops to walk them home. He’s picked them up and dropped them off at school and friends. He’s helped with homework and walked trails with them. He’s had snow ball fights and made snowmen. He’s helped them when their pets died and allowed them to grieve.
What’s most amazing to me is he’s allowed his children to be exactly who they are without dictating who he wanted them to be.
He is without a doubt, a great Dad, this days all about him.Happy Fathers Day R, you’re an amazing dad.
