This has been bothering me for awhile now..
A person who shall remained unnamed has a blog online. This is the exact quote from her blog: " I grabbed that kid by the back of the shirt and yelled at him not to push the boys down. You need to wait until they are up."
Let me tell you that if some one, anyone even, reached out and grabbed my child by the back of his shirt and yelled at him, the last thing she'd have to worry about was my son knocking her child down. While it was not right for the child to knock her child down or over, she should have addressed it with the parent of the child or the management of McDonalds, not with the child themself. Why? Because an adult snatching you by the back of your shirt and yelling at you is down right scary. It's actually worse than what the older child did to her son because she is an adult and should know better. The child in question was about 7 years of age her son is 3 .
If you are stopping a child from running out in to the street, by all means grab them by the shirt. Life or death, all the rules go out the window. Any child being knocked over in a McDonalds play land is not a life or death situation. It's what happens at McDonalds play land when it's crowded.
As for this comment:"Well, that did it. Momma Bear scooped up her Bear Cub and came charging full force. I screamed at those kids at the top of my lungs, and I didn't stop screaming until XXX pulled me off of them. I'm not sure exactly what was said at this point, but something along the lines of "Watch where your going! You plowed down two 3 year old kids in there! You scared my son to death!"
Just to share, the boys she was screaming at were 10-12 year olds. Again, if she were screaming at my child so out of control that someone had to pull her away from them, the last thing she'd have to worry about is my son scaring her son. Again, I can't say it enough, address it with McDonald's management or address it with the parents, but you have no right to scream at a child while you are being completely out of control. You have no right to scream at your own child like that never mind someone elses. It's child abuse.
Gain control of yourself and realize, although they may be 7 or 10 or 12 and seem big to you, they are still very young and small. They are still learning and still growing and what did your yelling at them like that teach them? That bigger and louder wins?
Kids being kids without parental supervision does not make my Momma Bear appear, but adults screaming at my children, now that is something that will make this Momma Bear growl!
