Do I make myself clear??

Probably not the best wording to say to someone that cares for your parent. Who washes their soiled peri-area on a daily basis. Who gets called vile names by same said parent. Who still smiles and loves your parent in spite of it all. Because we know it’s the disease process and not your parent. We get that, why can’t you?

Why do you feel the need to speak to us as if you are our boss? As if we have no idea what we are doing. Taking a condescending tone with us does not make for a good relationship. You want to have a good relationship with us.

“I do not wish to hear about my parent from another family ever again, do I make myself clear” was your wording. Do you make yourself clear? It makes it absolutely clear that you put no value in what we do. That you can not accept that changes that the disease is causing in your parent. So instead of realizing we know this, you feel the need to chastise us for what another residents family member states? Are you kidding me? Another residents family member makes mention that your parent is grouchy and somehow we are held responsible. We must have told them, as if your parent yelling in the hallway isn’t a dead giveaway they are not in the best of moods. Or the fact that three years ago, that was how their parent was, and now they’re further along in the disease process. But you don’t want support.

You know what lady, we will NOT change how we treat your parent. We will continue to love your parent because we know it’s the disease process, wtf is your excuse?
