Last Post of 2006

I’d give a recap of the year but mostly it sucked. I lost my best friend whom I will love forever. I lost the woman that took me in when my own mother didn’t want me and a plethora of residents which makes me question whether I want to remain at my job. Death was a big part of my year and I have to say, STILL DON’T LIKE YOU!!!

But the good parts were my friends, thank you all for being an amazing group of people. You gave me reasons to smile when I thought there were none, you gave me support when I needed it most and even let me know I was not alone in the sorrow.

My husband was a huge good part, without whom, the remaining sanity i have would not be possible, I love you baby, forever and a day. My children, you are my moon and my stars, and my sun and my sky, nothing would look as bright or joyful without you.

Why I don't want OnStar..

Personally, I don't want On Star installed in my vehicle. Everyone enjoys new technology but sometimes I feel it's a little too intrusive. Intrusive you ask? Well I watch the commercials and in them it says," Mrs. Jones, I notice you've been in an accident. I've alerted police and they're on their way." Or you have, "Mr. Smith, I notice your air bag has been deployed, do you require further assistance?" Why wouldn't you want that in your vehicle, especially seeing how quickly they respond after an accident, they'd get you help right away. Yes, I see that. I see that they would get me help right away. But what about a good hit and run, smash and dash. You wouldn't be able to do that because On Star would ruin your alibi. You can't say well I wasn't in an accident and On Star would say, yes you have been our sensors show it. Or what if they're listening in on your conversation while you're talking? Think of some of thing...

I had all kinds of thoughts and plans for my future. Dreams of the life I'd lead and the places I'd travel. But dreams are simply mist, blown away by the winds of reality, and as a well-known movie of our  younger years taught us, 'Reality Bites'. Reality is a bitter bitch.

The First Hearing of the Heartbeat
