Happy Birthday to our cat...
Today we did so much running around. Very icy out today. Yes, Rob got to say black ice more than once. I fell climbing on to a sidewalk over a smallish snow bank. Why did I fall? I hit an ice patch. What kind of ice? Black Ice. That shit is everywhere!!!
Anyways DMan had two appointments today in the city and even with the very icy and snowy conditions they were not cancelled. So off we went, venturing out. Then we realized it was our Lucius's tenth birthday and well you can't celebrate a birthday without gifts so off we went to PetCo to purchase the birthday boy his birthday gifts. Ten years old, WOW. It's funny because we got Lucius way back in the day, about a year in to Rob's disability or so. He was a much needed bright spot in our otherwise crazy lives. He continues to brighten our day in so many ways. He is also one of the most neurotic cats I have ever met in my entire life. And I've met my fair share of cats. He doesn't like the carpeting on his feet. He doesn't like new people in the house. He doesn't like certain wet foods. He screams and howls the entire time you are cooking chicken or turkey in the oven. It makes Thanksgiving an interesting day. That's for sure. He cuddles up and sleeps with me. He's got the softest fur of any cat ever and sometimes he even lets you pat it.
He does not enjoy being laughed at and will pay you back. Throw up all over my new uniforms one time certainly taught me not to laugh at him, where he could see me anyway. His name Lucius means light and he is certainly a beacon in our life. Happy Birthday Old Man!! Enjoy your organic catnip!

Also. 10 years? Really? I'm kind of in shock by that number. 10 years. Wow. Happy birthday, kitty. Does he like being called kitty? I don't want to be barfed on, heh. :-)
